Advanced multi-select tool for non-gradient fills
Fills that don't have gradients (e.g. the standard fill) cause area multi-selections to be immediately lost. This is highly frustrating if I've just spent a lot of time selecting many tiny areas.
It's also a problem if I have a brush selected and several areas selected, I don't know if it's safe to even touch the Fill tool menu, because if the last-used fill was not a gradient fill, I will immediately lose my area selections.
I'd like to see either solid fills support multi-selections, or at least show a warning if the chosen fill doesn't support multi-selections.
Immediately cancelling a lot of selected areas is a poor user experience and adds stress where it shouldn't exist.

It’s horrible!! I just posted about this. Will have to cancel if this isn’t fixed in the next update. So incredibly frustrating and what used to be an escape has become overly frustrating. Very bad idea.
