Custom crop, erase, or remove background from images
It would be great if we could have the ability to remove background (whether that's AI or magic wand type selection, layer masking manually, or just an eraser brush that affects that element) from images.
Alternatively, having a freehand crop -- which would be good for paper, stickers, almost everything else, especially for scrapbookers and collagers who might not want something exactly around a subject or around the whole subject -- would be a great addition. (To be honest I'd almost prefer the eraser or freehand crop, because I'm one of those use cases who doesn't always want the obvious subject.)
I know you can "make a sticker" in Photos, but not all subjects will do that, not all iPhones and iPads will do that, and the dragging process is a pain -- and then you end up trying to find other apps to make transparent pngs etc etc when it seems like erasing should be fairly straightforward.

The ability to freehand crop images like you are able to in GoodNotes for a more scrapbook-like aesthetic in journals.

Please please please update a versatile cutting tool that allows you to cut shapes from photos and screenshots like one would do with magazines and such for collages in real life. The exacto knife does not let you cut irregular shapes from photos and cropping a photo limits one to sharp boxy images. I’d love to be able to collage more in a way that feels more creative, fun and natural. The paper app is great for this but I prefer zinnia as an overall journal experience. I find myself collaging in paper and then transferring the collage as an image into zinnia but I can’t keep paying for both apps.

Thanks for this feedback – this is a big one and we are working on it!

I’d love to be able to cut bits of my photos out. The same as the cutting tool for pens! Would be perfect for collages!

It would be so helpful to be able to use an eraser tool on photos and objects from the studio like stickers and text boxes and journal cards. I have to use a different app if I want to use an eraser tool on a photo to put in my journal and it would be nice to do it all in my journal, especially since that is the only extra app I need to use besides Zinnia to scrapbook.

Ability to cut and use certain parts of a template or paper or sticker. Crop is good but doing a lasso that can cut a flower out of a paper pack or sticker with a background

Bumping this to add this seems ESPECIALLY silly not to have when we have such a great slice tool!

When cropping your only allowed straight edges, it would be great to have a tool where cropping can be any design shape. Example would be for those who like to junk journal or have ripped pages I can’t do that in zinnia so i have to use another editing app then bring it into zinnia to have the effect. To I want to be able to create my own

Scissor feature and/or cut-out feature in different shapes to be able to use with the paper packs. This feature could go in with the drawing tools and have different qualities like straight edge cut, ripped cut, wavy cut, etc. for different looks. These would be so helpful for art journaling!

Like cropping, but then having the ability to choose what the remaining edge looks like. I’m always rotating objects and then moving the majority out of frame, but that doesn’t let me put part of an object in the middle of the page.
Even better, if you “tear” an object and keep each piece as a new object, so you can move them around.
