Color/Paint by number
Every color by number out there is "tap tap tap" and you can't use pencils/paint etc. Would love pigment to come up with this.

This is really an entirely different type of app. Maybe in the future if we ever venture in paint-by-number apps we can make a separate app for this, but it doesn’t go with the Pigment we know and love.

A little bummed that this idea hasn’t seen a lot of traction over the past couple of years since it was suggested. I tried several paint-by-number apps yesterday and got so frustrated—they’re all terrible. There are so many creative ways Pixite could implement this in Pigment (like a numbers overlay with a toggle). There is *no* other app out there that compares and this is a huge missed opportunity.
Fingers crossed we get a bunch more votes and this idea becomes a reality.

Fo years I’ve been looking for a color by number app that combines the painting style used in Pigment (true stroke by stroke and not just “tap to fill”) and the guidance of paint by number (not having to think of what colors to use) and have YET to find one!!
This would actually be a great opportunity for Pigment for several reasons:
1) Increase Subscriptions - expanding the functionality/features would only give more incentive to subscribe/re-subscribe to Pigment
2) Competition - adding this feature would make Pigment a truly unique app in a rather oversaturated genre in the iOS App Store — NO other coloring app offers this specific capability (as far as I know), thus giving Pigment an “edge” over its hundreds of competitors
3) The Hard Work is Already Done!
- Pigment already has the coding for stroke-by-stroke painting, leaving only a few *simple* steps to complete:a) Adding paint-by-number patterns
- This would be easy since Pigment could just reuse pages already available or even those ALREADY COLORED by Pigment users as “patterns” for the new, paint-by-number projects (perhaps the most “liked” images? Maybe even create some fun competition for users?)b) Adding palettes + key/legend to projects
- Again, re-utilizing already-colored projects would basically complete this step FOR you! The colors are already there, and adding the key/legend is just a matter of simple coding. -

My favorite thing about your app is the ability to color free hand/free hand without leaving the lines. I would love to use your unique app to color by number.
As a further idea on this:
Other apps 'highlight' each area and tell you which color to use - this is too restrictive and not like IRL paint by number. To make your app even more unique and better than the others, you could give a suggested color pallet, but allow the user to use different colors if they'd like, and blend between sections.
It would basically be a coloring page like any others you have, except the 'layer' of numbers on them could be shown/hidden with a button, and a suggested color pallet for the numbers would be a plus. It could also just say 1 - yellow, 2- green, 3- blue, etc and we can decide the colors from there.
Again, what makes me delete the other color by number apps is that they are too strict in the colors and places you're 'allowed' to put the colors. Id like color by number to be more of a suggestion than a law. :)
Thanks for the awesome app!! I am still currently trying out the free version and color by number seems to be the only thing missing for me. Thanks for the wonderful options even in the free version.

This would be a fun book. Great for days I want to color but don’t want to think about my color choices. I could change a color if I really didn’t like it- purple hair instead of brown for example.

User should be able to color the pictures by number if they would like to
