Dark mode

Yes not for the paper because you can obviously change your paper and layouts to a darker color. However for the background it’s sooo important. It’s too bright to work on at night. It’s killing my eyes. I love the app, but it is seriously killing my retinas.

Absolutely a must have. Why does this even need to be requested? I would think it would be an obvious feature.

I used to be a subscriber but cancelled some time ago. Not having a dark mode is one of the primary reasons. Now and then I check back to see if it was added, and would have returned this time if it was.
For some of us this is more than a preference; it's an accessibility issue. I have light sensitivity. Staring at a brightly lit screen too long causes headaches, and I have difficulty keeping my eyes to stay focused away from the bright parts of the screen. I simply cannot filter this out and ignore it. The ability to make journal pages dark is a step in the right direction, but I also need the background interface to either be dark or disappear while I work.
Turning down the overall screen brightness just for this app isn't an acceptable solution for me either. The reason I like Zinnia is because I like making pretty journal pages with graphics and artwork. Turning down the brightness also makes it harder to see the graphics. This is not a problem in apps that offer dark mode.

I would love this feature as well!! I do not have the same issues as the aforementioned users, but I am, by nature a huge night owl and I can't even begin to describe how much stress and how many headaches I have been saved from since “dark mode” has been made available. But being a night owl, as you all know obviously means that I’m up at NIGHT. That and when your a single mom, being up at night to get your “me time” means usually having to sit in a very dark room, keeping the lights off so as not to awaken your children so they can get undisturbed sleep for school the next morning. And when I open my laptop or my phone to apps and pages that don’t have dark mode the colors of program on the screen are overwhelmingly & glaringly bright, giving me an instant headache most times. And even if I set my device to dark mode, the settings of program will be used before defaulting to my device preferences
. And being a graphic artist I cannot just simply “turn down” the brightness of the screen in use because that then “turns down” the colors and sharpness of any current designs being worked on and created. That would be like me telling a musician to turn down their speakers or put in ear plugs while composing a new song. It greatly hinders our creative processes or just simply processing the visuals at all in general as I see are issues for some people that I’ve never thought of before being as it doesn’t affect me. But now that I’m aware of it I can add that to my cause because it’s not just about me and my needs, it’s about everyone! This is a reason I quite love this platform for requesting features or changes. This is quite amazing and i think every company should handle them like this so you can see how others agree or not with them and if they have additional comenta maybe left out of the original request or for a user to leave a comment and/or offering help and/or instructions, alerting them to the fact that their request is already a tool or capability on the app that they somehow just missed so that they able to use the desired feature now instead of waiting for a future update. -

I second this. I have visual issues and suffer migraines. This is really needed.

I think it's important to offer a dark mode or customizable themes for the entire app background/colors, as it's more accessible for users with visual problems or sensory issues!
There's so much customization on the journals themselves that I imagine this option would put your app up there with Goodnotes or Notability in terms of popularity, which both offer a dark grey background. I'd prefer a dark brown theme, as it would be like the opposite to the cream you currently use!
I love this app so much, and as an autistic person an option like this would make my life SO much easier. I understand it takes time to vote on and implement new content, but PLEASE consider this! Not a lot of people have to consider the background, though for people like me the contrast can sometimes cause physical pain. We don't make up a majority of your customers, but we would benefit immensely from making this an addition - even if it's only available for premium! :)

Agree with commenters. Love the app, but using it at night would love a dark mode feature for the background!

Not on the "paper" itself but like the back interface cause its only the zinnia salmon color and it can be very distracting when your working On a color theme and getting thrown off by the pink off white

The journals are displayed on a bright background as well as the page you are working on. Would like the option to change that as I usually work on my journal at night and I use a dark paper. The white hurts my eyes. Shades of gray would be nice.

Pls put in a dark screen option so that being everything instead of the background being white, it can be black. This doesn’t hurt your eyes as much and is much easier to use late.

PLEASE voeg Darkmode toe. Als m’n ogen s’avonds moe zijn, dan kan ik deze app amper gebruiken door het veel te felle licht
