I used to be a subscriber but cancelled some time ago. Not having a dark mode is one of the primary reasons. Now and then I check back to see if it was added, and would have returned this time if it was.
For some of us this is more than a preference; it's an accessibility issue. I have light sensitivity. Staring at a brightly lit screen too long causes headaches, and I have difficulty keeping my eyes to stay focused away from the bright parts of the screen. I simply cannot filter this out and ignore it. The ability to make journal pages dark is a step in the right direction, but I also need the background interface to either be dark or disappear while I work.
Turning down the overall screen brightness just for this app isn't an acceptable solution for me either. The reason I like Zinnia is because I like making pretty journal pages with graphics and artwork. Turning down the brightness also makes it harder to see the graphics. This is not a problem in apps that offer dark mode.
