Video randomizer
To address people who are looking for a visualizer more so than a music video editor, would be great if Spool could incorporate an automatic video constructor based off the audio file. Colors, effects, and beat-sensitive parameters in the editor could all be set randomly and applied to tap events that are generated based on amplitude.
There are some new synthesizers coming on the market that include a randomizer button that automatically builds a new patch. It’s gimmicky, but fun, and it also pushes users to go deeper into different parameters than they otherwise may have.

Continue video where it left off when tapping again
Give us the option to either start the video over every time we click on it or continue it from where it left off. This concept is amazing but, for those who decide to upload longer videos, It sucks to have the video start from the beginning. The only way to make that happen right now is if the creators cut up the video scene by scene which creates time consuming work. I feel like this app wants the users to have an efficient work flow and with limited options for videos and limited space for each one it defeats…

Improve audio-reactive capabilities
The audio-reactive setting works well with simpler beats like four on the floor house music but not with breaks like hip-hop, drum n bass or dubstep. Improve beat detection to work with more genres.

Support videos with sound
Supporting audio with imported videos would open Spool up to higher level of creation. A few ways it could be used:
- With short snippets of video and sound like a drum machine or music sequencer
- Use one video with music and sound and overlay it with other videos or effects on top of it
- Use as a general editing tool with clips that have dialogue in order to create shorts
- Video with sound would allow the use special FX the affect both audio and visuals at the same time

Basically be able to trigger pads via MIDI CC and output video to HDMI so it can be used Live.

I really like the app, although I do feel there should be more in each deck. Specifically to me, I’m a “pain” artist. Want rain, sad aesthetic vibes. Maybe neon glowing lights in the rain. Silhouette of guy & girl sobbing in the rain or even gestures that symbolize your hurting. Also if you had a text feature where we can damn near make it into a lyric video as the same time. Overall the app is really cool, I love the ideas… but def do a weekly update of new decks. Much love!

Add Bpm grid / tempo syncd fx
Allow to set the project to the bpm of a song, and have bpm/tempo grid as well as the time line (like every DAW) allowing you to easily place clips right on beat, and to also sync visual fx on beat
3 votesThis is planned and we're currently looking into it. The goal is to add event quantizing post recording and a snapping option in the Timeline. You will also be able to customize and edit a songs BPM as needed.

Add a "one shot" setting
Add a "one shot" setting that you can apply to specific video pads, so the video is not continuously looped.

Add a projects section
Add a projects section in the app. The lack of a projects section is a bit difficult, especially when working on multiple videos for marketing or personal use.
