Lock entire app or individual journals with Password, PIN, Touch ID, etc.
Get excited – passcodes are here! We just released our latest app update TODAY and it includes a brand new passcode option. Now you can keep your app safe from prying eyes :) We can’t thank you all enough for your votes and comments on this feature request – it is because of YOU that we worked on developing this feature and getting it into the app. We appreciate this fabulous Zinnia community more than you know <3

Some thoughts aren’t meant for the eyes of anyone but yourself. Why not put a “lock” on it!

Or even on a particular page in the journal. Similar to “hidden” photos on Apple phones.

A place with a passcode for those secret notes, diaries etc. A safe place with that extra privacy!

I share this ipad with my husband. I would like to journal for mental health but don’t want to share my thoughts with just anyone. He also wants to journal. Can we lock them from each other?

Is it possible to allow the use of a password for a certain journal we would like to keep more private??

I am actually using Zinnia as a journal an I would really like if I could make one book private, like I need a code or a fingerprint to go In. Thanks!

This comment was made by AJ but they are my exact sentiments “The password and lock would be enough to make me feel secure. Of course, I’d just make sure no one else has my iCloud password. But my journals would be locked on all devices. And I’d bury the Zinnia files very deep somewhere. My biggest worry is just someone touching my devices and getting into the app. Encrypting the files and restricting iCloud would be great too, but it’s not necessary if its something thats just too difficult.”

I have my planners & personal journal and also my journals for when I die (I know sounds morbid). I have created journals for my husband, daughter, and son for if I ever pass away they have something from me that they can read. My personal journal I would like to keep private. My husband knows that I have these journals set aside for them just in case. It would be a great feature to be able to lock an individual journal instead of the whole app so that way only the journals I want private will remain private but the ones I don’t can be read.

Provide an option to require a password/Face ID/thumbprint for individual journals or/and to open the app.

I would like to ensure my journal is private. I would like to be able to lock it to ensure my kids or husband or anyone else on my iPad do not have access to it.

.Hi I would love my personal journal to be private, it will be excellent to have a face recognition to access to my journal.

I would really like if you added a passcode feature for each journal, in this way I can plan & journal my daily thoughts at the same app

I really want thiss... is there any target date on this feature released? Privacy is key! Either whole app or specific journal is fine for me too! ICloud is not a deal breaker to me... :)

I would love to have a password! Just on the journal is fine, whether it be on the whole app or on specific journals themselves.

I’m good with lock on the app, I’m the only one that accesses my tablet or I cloud. If family has it I’m close by.

Not a deal breaker for me, I think it'd be fine to have a passcode as a deterrent.

I think I’m saying this right; iCloud is a very individual entity, so I’m guessing who ever has access to your iPad can enter your personal cloud service through ‘Files’ app & find the journals. I would think if it is locked on the iPad it should be locked in your cloud. Settings seem to be exact in other apps. If locked it stays locked in the cloud. Oops I’m starting to confuse myself. Ok, locked on iPadOS and your cloud.

Yes this would be amazing additional. Journaling is a private thing I do and it will give me a piece of mine that no one can access them. My family too uses my iPad here and there so a passcode would be a great piece of mine
