Create and save custom color palettes, including recents
Idea 1: Ability to create a palette of colors that could be used, for instance, throughout a themed journal or page. This would also allow the ability to save frequently used/favorite custom colors.
Idea 2: Hi there — I’m LOVING Zinnia and have spent hours today making journals and calendars. Something that’s taken tons of time and is very repetitive is having to use the color picker to select custom font colors for each new text box. It would be wonderful to have a recent swatch menu like the one you provide for the ink colors in the drawing part of the app. Thanks!
We're so excited to announce we now have color palettes! Check out the latest update and see it for yourselves - it's seriously a game changer. Create and save your own palettes, or choose from a selection of curated Zinnia palettes. This also comes with a new brush menu, where you can add unlimited pens to your toolbar!
Please let us know how you like the update :)

Here's how to create a custom palette:
1. Tap the squiggly line icon at the top of a journal page to enter drawing mode.
2. Tap a color to change it – you can select a hue from the color wheel, dropper tool or type in a hex value.
3. Once you've chosen your colors, tap the + icon, then type a name for your palette, and tap "create new palette."Don't want to DIY? Explore Zinnia's palettes by tapping the multi-color icon and scrolling through the "Zinnia Colors" section.
You can now also add as many brushes as you want to your tool set, and move around the order of brushes by simply dragging and dropping. Plus, check out our new color palettes in the updated menu.
Under-the-hood brush updates. We have made some significant technical improvements to our brushing engine which *should* be completely indecipherable to Zinnians. If you do happen to notice something amiss, please contact us asap at zinnia@pixiteapps.com.

I just started using Zinnia and I was SHOCKED at how terrible the color picking experience is compared to how great the rest of the app is.
aside from the functionality requested in this thread, my biggest issue is how the Apple Pencil ignores the color swatches. the fact that i have to switch to my finger is SO debilitatingly workflow halting. even in seamless mode 😭😭 it’s anything but seamless. please consider making this tweak, thank you!!

How has this still not been addressed? It's been three years. And I do not see much software improvement work going on. Adding new stickers every week is NOT what is essential for this app to meet our needs.

It would be nice to be able to select a custom color, and then save it as a favorite for fonts instead of only being able to select from the default palette, or having to use the wheel to ‘recreate’ the color every time you want to use it.

Just started Zinnia and working with procreate and being used to the different palettes I can choose from, really makes me miss this feature!
Especially when trying to be consistend throughout the journal/month/week it is important to have your palette easily accessable without having to select it from the page/somewhere else every time

I would LOVE to be able to save my special colors!

It would be amazing that after customising my own colour (wether with the gradient or colour picker), it would be nice to save it. I don't really care if it's overriding the presets, though, saving my own colours separately would be really nice.
I did *just* start using the app so if I simply missed this feature, feel free to let me know in the comments. I appreciate it ahead of time. <3

How is this not higher??? I want to be able to make my own color palettes. To be consistent I only use 5 colors and leave one for fandoms. It’s too annoying to have a color page I can go to and use the dropper to be consistent or any other solutions. Let us save colors!

It would be great if I could save a color to my stuff or have a “frequently used colors” selection automatically pop up so I can use an exact color from one object and apply it to another without guessing

Yes. Please add the feature of making your own colour palettes that are available for drawing, font and object colouring. With more space for selections too

I really really want to create custom colour palettes that I can use for different journals. I have multiple journals with different colour schemes, and would love to just choose colours from my palette rather than constantly use the eyedropper to pick up colours, it gets very tiring.

Please add the function for our made color pallets like you have in pigment. And also ability to creator custom color palette for uniformity across journals and pages. The ability to go back to a certain color scheme would be game changing

Color picker for page color would be great and also maybe add the hex number?

I would like the ability to create and save my own color pallets for various pages and journals. I like that I can create custom colors but I haven’t been able to save them. I can use the color copy tool when I am working on a page and want to reuse a custom color but once I leave that page I no longer have access to the custom color.

I would love this! Right now when I change colors I have to erase a previously saved color. Since this app uses a dropper and not say a hex code, I have to note where I got the original color and the. Use the dropper each time I want to add that color back. Being able to save my frequently used color palettes would be excellent.

Request from a YouTube viewer: After taking the time to create the palette they want to use, it would be nice to be able to copy that palette to other pens/brushes so you don't have to through the process for every one.

This is a request I have been really hoping for!
I think it would be even better if not only could you save custom pallets- but if zinnia included other pre-made palettes to use!
Sometimes I have difficulty setting up a journal because I get a bit too zealous with the color scheme. I end up spending hours just trying to figure out what color palette I can use to make the entire journal cohesive. Some pre-made palettes (I’m thinking something like the palette options you see in coloring book apps) would really help!
In the meantime- if anybody reads this: a quicker way to avoid having to switch page or copy and paste items to swatch colors from them is to save an image of a page that has your color palette already on it. (Be it through text, Journal Pages, stickers, etc.) And then add the photo onto the page your working on.

Color drop; tap a color on your sheet and copy the color and drop or use the same color anywhere else on your sheet.
