Ability to lasso text
Being able to use the lasso tool to better select text then an option to change the color of the text without having to write the same text with a different color. Doesn’t make sense to be rewriting things.

This is the one thing that is keeping me from fully converting from GoodNotes. The hand-cropping is essential!

Yes! This is so important for the scrapbooking element. Being able to freehand crop photos, stickers, journal cards, etc.

Add shapes to cropping like circle, star, cloud, etc.

Absolutely essential. I‘m thinking about going back to Goodnotes because of it. I don‘t always know beforehand how much space something will need etc. and then I might have to write hole paragraphs again, because they are all in one big selection…

Yes! This is really essential for an app like this! I really hope it’s added soon!

Yes! Better border manipulation would be great too.
I’ll look for a separate idea that exits for that, but wanted to comment here too since they are similar topics.
Attached are some of my thoughts for that.

When handwriting, I cannot lasso a specific word or line of text in a box (to move it) without selecting all the handwritten text in that box. Sometimes you only want to move one word that isn’t straight or in the wrong spot

I have been waiting for a scissors tool for so long! A freehand crop to cut images in any way you like is an essential tool in journaling and this is the reason I can't switch to Zinnia from goodnotes!! I have been waiting years for this feature and requested it several years ago too!

When trying to resize letters, and that lasso comes up almost every time, that’s a big hassle. We need the ability to disable the lasso.

Ability to cut out shapes from images instead of just square cropping.

This is EXTREMELY important for me, both as a teacher and a PhD student. Hope to see this feature soon :)

For example, taking a square, rectangle photo and cropping it into a circle photo of different sizes. It would be nice to use the circular frames.

Please consider adding cropping to shape and the ability to round corner crop all those pre-made journal cards and full page papers in Zinnia. Also adding snap to shape and snap to line.

to allow the selection of specific text to be moved if adding to the middle of a list

I totally agree! This default setting is really annoying for me and is the ONLY reason why I'm still using GoodNotes instead of Zinnia despite my absolute love for every other Zinnia feature. I can't have to erase and rewrite everything just to move around an item in a list or in a planner… I really hope you will consider this!

the great thing about washi tape is that it can be cut. Sometimes I will cut washi tape in half so I have a slim divider. I don’t always want the thick washi tape. Mabe add a scissors tool to cut out parts of images and washi tabe to make unique shapes

Lasso tool that can select things individually. Every other journal app, the lasso tool can select one word or one letter if needed, with Zinnia if you attempt to lasso handwriting it for whatever reason selects everything you’ve hand written. Not very useful when you’re using it to take notes or actual journaling, I end up having to erase even if I need to move a word to another place on my page.
Would also be helpful to be able to lasso handwriting and select color to change.
Similar tools are available on CollaNote and GoodNotes, although CollaNote has hands down the best features, but I prefer to use Zinnia for the stickers and templates.

Being able to “loop” and circle to move a few words or even letters when writing something or taking notes. I hate how I can’t just move a Sentence or word around when I’m making my day plans for teaching. Good Notes has fantastic abilities to do this, but I love the customizability of Zinnia.
